On September 13, 2021, at approximately 9:12 p.m., Deputy C. Lopez from the Sheriff's Central Station conducted a vehicle check on a gray Nissan in the area of Palm Avenue and Honey Hill Drive in Grand Terrace.  Lopez contacted the occupants of the vehicle and identified the driver as Julio Salinas,  and the passenger as Chloe Cromwell.

Upon contact, Lopez smelled an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a consensual search of the vehicle, Lopez located a loaded .22 caliber Advantage Arms firearm with a Polymer 80 lower on the driver side floorboard.  The firearm had no serial numbers and is considered a “ghost gun.”

Salinas was arrested for P.C. 25850(A) and was booked into the Central Detention Center where he is being held on $25,000 bail.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Central Station at (909)387-3545. Callers wishing to remain anonymous are urged to call We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME(27463) or you may leave information on the website at www.wetip.com.
