Ingredients:

For the filling:

4 ripe peaches, sliced

1 cup fresh blueberries (or blackberries)
 - 
1/2 cup granulated sugar
 - 
1 tbsp lemon juice
 - 
1 tbsp cornstarch
 - 
1 tsp vanilla extract

For the topping:
- 
1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 
1/4 cup sugar
 - 
1 tsp baking powder
 - 
1/4 tsp salt
 - 
6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
 - 
1/3 cup heavy cream (plus a little for brushing)

For serving:

Freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Instructions:
- 
Prepare the fruit filling
- 
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
 - 
In a large bowl, toss peaches, berries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla. Spread evenly into a greased baking dish.

Make the topping
- 
In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Cut in cold butter with a fork or pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in cream until dough just comes together.

Drop spoonfuls of dough over the fruit filling.

Brush with a little extra cream for golden tops.
