A minor-injury collision on Wednesday afternoon, July 17, held up traffic on Barton Road in Grand Terrace for approximately an hour as San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials worked to clear the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash involving a black Nissan Infinity G35 and a red Chevrolet Cavalier. Officials received a call about the incident that took place at Barton Road and La Crosse Avenue near the southbound I-215 freeway entrance at 2:25 p.m. last Wednesday afternoon. Two individuals—one driver and one passenger from the same vehicle—were transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, confirmed San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Cindy Bachman. Police reports did not detail their injuries, she noted. “One vehicle was traveling east on Barton Road and possibly ran the red light at La Crosse,” said Bachman. “It then collided with another vehicle making a left turn from Barton Road onto the southbound 215.” The crash left the intersection completely blocked according to police reports, Bachman said. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials rerouted oncoming traffic onto the southbound I-215 or into Colton via La Cadena Avenue until the vehicles could be towed away that afternoon. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials are still investigating the crash, she said.
