On Tuesday night December 13, the Grand Terrace City Council held its scheduled meeting where the new mayor, Mayor Bill Hussey, was sworn into office. Hussey has been serving on the City Council for the City of Grand Terrace for the past seven years and now will assume new responsibilities as the Mayor of Grand Terrace.   Mayor Hussey addressed the crowd with the following statement.   “First, I want to say Galatians 6: 9-10 Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. I have a lot of thank you’s here and I don’t want to forget anybody, so I just summed it all up. Thank you all for coming out tonight and honor me, Walt for swearing me in it is a great honor. I have big shoes to fill, and it means a lot for everyone to come out here tonight. And I want to thank God for this path that he has given me. I pray for wisdom, to lead this city and do his will. Second, I’d like to thank my wife, my family, and my mother-in-law Billy for their support. I am blessed to have them. By the way Debbie, I spent the money to remodel our bathroom for our campaign. Just in case you’re wondering why it’s not done. I want to thank the SPGOP and the National Hispanic Republican Assembly for their endorsements. Thank you, Michelle, it meant a lot for me to get that endorsement. I would like to thank my friends who walked with me and prayed for me during my campaign. Please keep praying. Thank you to all the residents who put up my campaign sign. Thank you.”
