Caltrans workers on Nov. 18 demolished the outer wall of a warehouse facility that was completely damaged during an evening fire last Monday night, Nov. 17.
A full closure of the northbound 215 Freeway from Iowa Avenue to Barton Road took place last Tuesday for two hours while crews demolished a bridge and an outer wall of the building on the 22000 block of Commerce Way in Grand Terrace, which was a warehouse for Hunter Landscaping. Over 20 vehicles inside the building were also completely destroyed in the blaze last week.
Traffic on the southbound 215 Freeway last Tuesday night was also put on hold for about 15 minutes during the demolition of the warehouse wall, according to the official Caltrans 8 Twitter account.
The demolition was completed shortly before 9 p.m. last Tuesday but cleanup on the northbound 215 Freeway was in effect for a few hours after the demolition.
The Nov. 17 blaze occurred at about 5:45 p.m. and caused approximately $1 million in damage. No one was inside the warehouse at the time of the fire.
