On May 3, 2025 I had the pleasure of attending the 41st Annual Ann Petta's Grand Terrace Art Show.  On arrival at the Grand Terrace City Hall I was immediately transported into a netherworld of Art.  The main hall of the building that I had been in many times had been transformed into a stunning display of art that drew me in and captivated my imagination with art displayed in a mood setting that was remarkable. I had attended the Grand Terrace Art Show in years past and this year was by far the most dynamic display of art and artistic atmosphere that I've seen yet.  When entering the main hall the art was displayed in an inviting maze of ever changing mood that gave each piece a stage of its own where each individual piece could speak its story. The lighting played a huge part in the presentation and became a character in the representation of the art and each artist vision.      I spoke with Ruben Martinez,  a local Grand terrace artist who had his art in display at the show and he said;  “This was the 2nd consecutive year I've had the honor of being a part of the Grand Terrace annual art show. This year's event was truly something special as the art show set up and display was elevated to a true gallery experience! Everything from the lighting set up, display placement along with the ambient sounds from the guest musical talent is exactly what artists hope for when displaying their works of art! I really loved connecting with guests and fellow artists alike and really look forward to next year's event with the hopes of the same set up and possibly a few more times throughout the year! Huge huge thanks to Jason Greeley for his hard work and efforts in elevating the art show experience for the City of Grand Terrace!” The Grand Terrace Historical and Cultural Activities Committee had outdone themselves with this year’s show. Art was displayed from the local artist in Grand Terrace including, Deph, Donnelly Browne, Councilmember Doug Wilson,  Junebug,  Miss Jayden, Carcass, Mike Trike, and Jason Greeley.  The Grand Terrace High School had brought a whole slew of great art from the gifted students as well. One of the highlights of the show was the amount of art from young budding artist; awards were given out for their participation. Brooklyn Brown, 8 years old, was the youngest artist and she took home “Best Sketch”. There was a triple threat winner with Alenah Fernandez who took home “Most Innovative Young Artist “ “Committee Choice Award “ and “Best of Show “ with her "Bear Mask”. These elements combined with music performed by local guitarist Anthony Ibarra set the mood for success.  The Grand Terrace Historical and Cultural Activities Committee gave board member Jason Greeley a wide birth to step up and use his expertise in art shows and galleries to shed a new light on the 41st Annual Ann Petta Grand Terrace Art Show.  Councilmember Matt Brown expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating, “I’d like to give a special shout out to Jason Greeley for taking the lead on this event and for his unwavering dedication to enriching our community through art and history.” His words echoed the sentiments of many who recognized the impact that Jason’s vision and commitment had on the revitalization of the art scene in Grand Terrace. As the night concluded, Greeley reflected on the event's success and its significance for the Grand Terrace community. His words resonated with many: "Art is my life and career,  it was truly my pleasure to be of service to my home town and shed new light on the great artists in our beloved community”, excited about the future, he also voiced his aspiration to take the event to greater heights next year. Promising to continue fostering artistic expression and connection within the community. Greeley said  “Truly inspiring,  I can’t wait to pull it off bigger and better next year, to the Historical and Cultural Activities Committee, I am grateful for all the hard work that each and every member of the board put in, from giving the art display boards a fresh coat of paint to helping the children paint rocks, you ladies made all the difference,  without art, people perish, remember that art saves."
