TwoVehicle Collision Snarls Traffic on Barton Road

A silver Mazda SUV was being transferred by tow truck at the intersection of Barton Road and Washington Street Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 16.

Drivers were re-routed on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 16, after a minor injury collision snarled traffic for about an hour on the border of Colton and Grand Terrace. Colton police officers were on scene at the intersection of Barton Road and Washington Street in Colton after the crash occurred at Washington Street and Cooley Avenue, stated Cpl. Ray Mendez of the Colton Police Department. Mendez reported the incident occurred at 12:33 p.m. between a black Cadillac Seville and a silver Mazda SUV. Mendez also stated that two people were transported to nearby medical centers to be treated for minor injuries. One of those people was a passenger, but it was not immediately clear in which vehicle the passenger had been traveling, stated Mendez. The cause of the incident is still undetermined, said Mendez.
