Halloween Safety

It’s spooky how close we are to Halloween already! I can already picture porches with jack-o-lanterns and kids in costumes. Whether you’re trick-or-treating with little ones, throwing a party, or just enjoying the decorations, here are a few tips to make it fun and safe.

If you’re going out to celebrate, please plan ahead. Bright costumes, glow sticks, or reflective tape can help kids stand out after dark, and sticking to familiar, well-lit routes makes navigation easy. Safety tricks like these don’t take away from the treats; they just make the night smoother for everybody.

Drivers, you’re part of this, too! Please slow it down that evening. Our streets will be full of excited ghosts, superheroes, and princesses who might forget to look both ways. Your extra caution can make a huge difference.

And for those welcoming trick-or-treaters, keep paths and porches clear so kids don’t trip, and consider adding a few allergy-friendly goodies to your bowl. Little touches like that go a long way.

Finally, don’t forget our four-legged friends. Costumes, crowds, and constant doorbell rings can stress out our pets. Help them stay calm by providing a quiet space away from the action. And let's keep that chocolate out of paw’s reach.

Have a safe and spooktacular time, Moreno Valley!
