On Saturday, Oct. 25, the City of Grand Terrace will host its 33rd country fair, bringing the community together for some old-fashioned fun. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lions’ Club Grand Terrace Community Center, vendors who live or work in Grand Terrace will be selling hand-made items and home-grown plants. There will also be a baking contest and chili cook-off. Come sample prize-winning home-cookin’. Food entries will be sold in individual portions after judging is completed at very reasonable prices. Fair-goers will also be able to buy used books from the “Friends of the Library” sale, and may also partake in the barbecue on the back patio. Some of the unique features of this event are handmade quilts and crochet work, various craft items, toys, woodworking, gourd art, home décor, jewelry, and many more one-of-a-kind treasures and Christmas gifts. You’ll also find home-grown plants and produce, hand-carved walking sticks with intricate details, and much more. A miniature working train display will be there for the kids young and old to enjoy. Various community organizations will also be on hand to meet with the public and answer questions. They include the Grand Terrace Lions’ Club, Citizens’ Patrol, the local 4-H club, Chamber of Commerce, and Boy Scouts. The fair will take place at the corner of Barton Rd. and Vivienda Ave. in Grand Terrace.
