On June 7, The Grand Terrance Community Days took place at Richard Rollins Park celebrating the local community of Grand Terrance with live entertainment, vendors, and food and games for people to enjoy. The theme for this year’s Grand Terrance Community Days was “Health and Fitness” in celebrating a healthy and active lifestyle of eating right, exercising properly, and keeping a happy healthy attitude. The event's opening was led by the Grand Terrace Cub Scouts and the mayor of Grand Terrace, Walt Stanckiewitz. Among the vendors taking part in the event was 24 Hour Fitness and the newly-opened Grand Terrace CrossFit. Also attending the event and sponsor of the Grand Terrace Community Days was the Healthy Grand Terrance committee, led by Chairman Andy McRae and Program Coordinator Sally Mcguire. The city of Grand Terrace has recently been joined by the San Bernardino County’s Healthy Cities Initiative and it is the goal for the Healthy Grand Terrace Committee to promote physical, social, and economic environment that supports the well-being of its members. By alerting the city to organize and make a difference in promoting not only a healthy lifestyle, but a healthy community to help improve the well-being of the Grand Terrace community. This synergy and togetherness that Healthy Grand Terrace Committee is promoting will bring a healthier and happier Grand Terrace. Participating in the festivities also consisted of live entertainment of members of the Grand Terrace community including local singers, dancers, and other performers which got the crowd moving and on their feet as many danced and enjoyed the festivities. The event brought the togetherness and the communities of its citizens to receive information, eat good food, and have fun as the summer approaches.
