Several residents called the City News inquiring about an 18-wheeler semi-truck that rolled some 40 feet down an embankment near the bridge on Barton Road near La Cadena. Sources at the scene Monday afternoon told the City News that the incident occurred around 6 or 7 a.m. According to a reliable source, the driver of the truck, carrying produce, had to move over while traveling east on Barton Road to make way for an oncoming vehicle. When the truck moved toward the edge of the road, the roadway underneath gave way, causing the truck to fall down some 40 feet, rolling over until it landed on its side. Sources told the City News that no one was injured in the incident; the driver of the truck was also unharmed. As of Monday afternoon, workers were offloading produce from the refrigerated trailer. Two large tractor tow trucks were on site, ready to upright the semi.
