The Grand Terrace Lions Club hosted "Movie in the Park," a free event for the residents, family and friends of the local Grand Terrace community. Big Hero 6 was shown for approximately 500 people at Richard Rollins Park on Saturday, Aug. 29. In addition to the movie, the club provided a video game truck. The Grand Terrace High School Leo Club and Boy Scouts Troop 40 facilitated a water balloon toss and water melon eating contest. The participants danced to music and enjoyed community fellowship. As the movie was beginning, the club gave out glow sticks. Additionally, the Foundation of Grand Terrace passed out free prepackaged popcorn and the Grand Terrace Area Chamber of Commerce gave out free bottled water. The City of Grand Terrace waived all the facility use fees. There were many Lions, Leos, family and friends and Boy Scouts that came out and gave of their time and service.
