The Second Annual Grand Terrace Lions 5K fun Run/Walk for FREEDOM will take place on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8 a.m. at Pico Park in Grand Terrace. In addition to the run/walk, other events will include a health fair in the Pico Park, after the race has concluded. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Veterans Wall of Freedom Project – a project to design and build this monument to show eternal gratitude to the men and women who answered the call to defend liberty and protect Freedom by serving in the military of the Unites States of America. This site is dedicated to our U.S. Military men and women, past and present, for their sacrifices, dedication, and service to our country. The event will be on the streets of Grand Terrace, specifically, Pico, Michigan, Main, and Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon Street will be closed from Main Street to Barton road between the hours of 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. There will be many detour signs to route you around the closure. Everyone is welcome: Runners, Walkers, and Strollers! Online registration is still open but will close on Friday, Sept. 25. Onsite registration at Pico Park (6:45 – 7:30 a.m) Sunday, Sep 27 is $40.
