Grand Terrace High School Annual Team Fundraiser a Success!

"Early Bird gets the worm" or so the saying goes. This appeared to be the mentality of the Grand Terrace High School (GTHS) Football Team this past Saturday. They were up early in the morning for their annual fundraiser, washing cars and collecting donations for Goodwill. Many folks from the community made donations and came out get their cars washed. "They work hard; we're here to help the boys and raise funds,” said Laura Taylor, whose son is a new member of the football team. The fundraiser was organized to help the football team get uniforms and weight room attire. Additionally, all the donations made to Goodwill help provide job opportunities for the disabled and military veterans. “We’ve been collecting since February and it is all for a good cause,” said Jeanette Valadez, the Football Booster Club President, who heads the team of parents who plan and organize fundraisers for the team, known as the Football Booster Club. The GTHS Football team will host a few more events in the upcoming months. This Saturday, April 19th they will be putting meals together in the cafeteria and sending them to Fundraising with a Purpose, which feeds starving children in third world countries. They also will be hosting a Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament on May 3rd, a Golf Tournament on June 13th and their big event, the Kick off BBQ and Car Show on August 9th. Stay tuned!
