Grand Terrace's Community Development Department is in the process of updating the city's sign code and will hold a public workshop for these updates in the Council Chambers of City Hall on Dec. 18. The sign code establishes regulations and parameters for signs used by businesses in the city to attract customers, including size, materials and types of lighting used, according to a release issued by the city. The release states that the update of the sign code is "one of the implementation action items from the city's adopted 2030 Vision and 2014-2019 Strategic Plan." The updates will support the goal of helping economic development in Grand Terrace by helping the city prepare for future businesses and work with existing businesses to succeed. “We want to work closely with our local businesses and residents to develop a sign code that visually enhances our community while supporting economic development,” said Community Development Director Sandra Molina. “We hope that the public will help us in this effort to ensure that our code works for everyone.” The workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. and residents and business interests are encouraged to attend with their ideas and concerns. City Hall is located at 22795 Barton Road.
