It’s football season again and the Titans are ready for their second season of varsity football. After finishing just 1–9 in their inaugural season, the Titans are ready to compete for a spot in this year’s CIF playoffs, led by Grand Terrace High School’s (GTHS) first senior class. Seniors Cruz Duke (#21) and Nemo Perez (#27) lead with a strong running game; senior Ralph Mohammed (#2) will start at quarterback; senior Joe Ayala (#87), junior Antonio Torres (#80) and junior Cameron Terry (#25) lead the receiving core; and the offensive line is anchored by returning starters senior Joe Valadez (#79), senior Will Land (#76) and junior Jordan Brown (#75). The defensive backs include senior Alex Longsworth (#5) and sophomore Devon Dixon (#26). Sophomore Tyler Valentine (#47) and senior Clayton Moore (#24) head a list of tough linebackers this year, while the defensive line returns the Alvarez brothers, sophomore Brandyn (#54) and senior Cameron (#56). Defensive end features Norco transfer junior Kyle Starr (#10). The team looks forward to a competitive season and reaching playoffs is the goal. The weeks will challenge these young men, but with their hard work and dedication to put Grand Terrace on the high school football map, they have the drive to succeed. The team hopes to see full grandstands each Friday night at the GTHS stadium and at the schools the team visits. Grand Terrace opens the season against San Bernardino’s new high school Indian Springs, on Friday, Sept. 6 at GTHS, 21810 Main St. in Grand Terrace.
