The City of Grand Terrace’s Child Services Department will provide affordable meals to infants and children as part of the federal government’s Child and Adult Care Food Program or CACFP. The program provides nutritious meals and snacks to economically disadvantaged infants and children as a regular part of their day care.
The center does not discriminate against any person because of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. The City’s Child Care is located at 22400 Barton Road, Suite 200 in Grand Terrace.
A variety of public or private nonprofit child care centers, Head Start programs, outside school-hours care centers, and other institutions that are licensed or approved to provide
day care services participate in this program. The program reimburses the City at free, reduced-price, or paid rates for eligible meals and snacks served to enrolled children,
targeting benefits to those children most in need.
“We want to continue to provide our community with affordable, accessible child care and access to nutritional meals,” said Linda Phillips, Director of Child Care Services.
“Parents can get information about eligibility and access by visiting our website www.grandterrace-ca.gov or contacting us at 909-783-0994.”
The Child and Adult Care Food Program is a federal program that provides aid to child and adult care institutions and family or group day care homes for the provision of nutritious foods that contribute to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children, and the health and wellness of older adults and chronically impaired disabled persons.
