The Grand Terrace Woman's Club (GTWC) Christmas tree, designed by Yolanda Navarro and financed by Club members, is on display at Innovations Salon. The fully-decorated tree and several gift baskets will be raffled off on Dec. 17. Each year the Club decorates a tree and sells tickets for a chance to win the tree for $1 each. The proceeds are used to fund the GTWC "Child Help Christmas" project. Families needing assistance are sought out through the schools. Children in the house are given clothes, toys, food boxes and turkeys for their families. One group of members shop for the clothing, another group wraps the items. Another group separates the toys, picks the appropriate toys for the child and wraps them. Members organize the food into boxes for delivery which have been donated through the Grand Terrace Elementary School canned food drive and Club members. Numerous businesses have donated toys and items for the baskets. Tickets can be purchased at the salon and from Club members.
