Professional of the Year Awarded to Tim Evans

The Unforgettables Foundation (TUF), a one-of-a-kind cause and essential grassroots charity (501(c)(3)) based in the Inland Southern California college town of Redlands, is excited to announce an upcoming honor to be awarded to organization founder, Tim Evans, M.Div., CFRE, by the Inland Empire Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) on Nov. 17, in Riverside, Calif. as part of the annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon at the historic Mission Inn. Evans, former founding chaplain of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital in Loma Linda, will be recognized as the regions Professional of the Year by his non-profit colleagues in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Andrew Watt, the President/CEO of AFP International will be the keynote speaker and make the presentation to Mr. Evans who is CEO of the 16-year-old charity The Unforgettables Foundation (www.unforgettables.org). Joining Watt, who will be attending from his Washington D.C. offices, will be chapter President Debbie A. Cannon of AcademyGo.com, a non-profit training center near Victorville. Ms. Cannon comments, “Tim is a dear colleague and dedicated and deserving community leader.” Mr. Watt’s keynote address will be “The Evolving Trends in Philanthropy”. Tickets are $50.00 for the luncheon and can be purchased on-line at www.inlandempireapf.com. Seating is limited. Other awards will also be presented in various categories. Evans is a 10 year CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive), a group of 5,000 or so credentialed global leaders in philanthropy. Chaplain Evans, previously named an “All-Star Among Us” finalist by People Magazine and Major League Baseball, (one of 90 in the US and Canada) for exemplary charity leadership in 2010 through the L.A. Angels of Anaheim Baseball Club, was recognized last fall as the Humanitarian of the Year by the San Bernardino County Black Culture Foundation, while in April 2015 he accepted the San Bernardino County Children’s Network’s Charity Service Provider of the Year honor for his unique group, which aids almost 300 families a year with essential funeral funds for cash-strapped families dealing with the death of their child – toddler to teen. Evans is also the respected co-founder of the Desert Communities AFP Chapter in the Coachella Valley. The Unforgettables has assisted over 5,000 families since 2000. “I want to thank my AFP colleagues, as well as, The Unforgettables board, past and present, staff, the donors, sponsors and volunteers, for partnering with this mission of mercy for almost a generation now. Also, thanks to the Businesswomen’s Association of San Bernardino County for nominating me. God has blessed all of us for supporting so many grief-stricken strangers. Every child is certainly unforgettable.”
