The Grand Terrace Titans Junior All American Football and Cheer program hosted the NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition on June 21st at Grand Terrace High School. The NFL Punt, Kick, and Pass Competition is an annual national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 15. Young athletes who participate in the competition are separated into five separate age divisions (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15) and compete against each other in punting, passing, and placekicking. The top three athletes in each category receive ribbons and medals, sanctioned by the NFL. Those who come in first place in each category receive a chance to compete in other city competitions in the hopes of winning the grand prize of traveling to an NFL stadium to participate in the half time show. “Our goal is to make sure all kids have the opportunity to participate, and have the opportunity to be involved in community activities,” said Hayward Robinson, President for the Grand Terrace Titans Junior All American Football and Cheer Program. “All kids are welcome to come here, play, and participate.” While many kids participated in the competition; there are only five who can advance to the next city competition. The winners who will advance to the next competition are: the 7-8 category, Carter Sweat, 8-9 category, Mr. Raymond, and 10-11 category, Jeremiah Donaue. The girls who participated also took first place positions in their categories; 10-11 category, Miss Genesis, 11-12 category, Elaine Sanchez, and 12-13 category, Dora Sanchez.
