GRAND TERRACE>> On Thursday, May 5, 2016 between 11 p.m. and 12 a.m., an unknown suspect jumped over the wall of the business and stole a Blue Miller Mig Welder from a locked equipment room. The welder was valued at approximately $5,000. The incident was captured on clear high definition infrared video surveillance from multiple angles. The staff at the Wilden Pump Engineering Company reported the burglary to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Central Station. They provided excellent video surveillance and a description of the missing item with a serial number. Station detectives conducted a thorough investigation and developed suspect leads. David Arriaga, an ex-employee, was positively identified as the person responsible for the commercial burglary. On Friday, Oct.21, 2016, Central Station Detectives served a search warrant and arrest warrant at Arriaga’s residence in the City of Perris, CA. Arriaga was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Central Station where he was interviewed. He was booked at the Central Detention Center where he is awaiting his preliminary hearing. The missing welder was not located at his residence and is still outstanding. The search for the missing property is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Detective Division at (909)387-3545.
