This past Saturday on June 28th at the Calimesa Country Club, the Grand Terrace Lions Club and The Grand Terrace Area Chamber of Commerce got together for an annual golf tournament at the Calimesa Country Club. The Grand Terrace Lions Club hold this event this every year to raise money for their community, local businesses, and charities; this year the Grand Terrace Chamber of Commerce partnered to pull the event together. Registration began at 11:30 a.m. with a 1 p.m. shot-gun start. Participants enjoyed 18 holes, including the cart, unlimited range balls, participation in longest drive, most accurate drive, and closest to pin contests, and lastly a dinner banquet. There were also additional contests including a gambler’s delight hole, a putting contest, raffle prizes, and ‘last number out’ contest. Lion chairpersons Penny Radtke and Ruthanne Christianson have chaired the Lions golf event for the past 4 years. This year was the first year partnering this event, with Chamber chairpersons Burt Seuylemezian and Anthony Cortes. Radtke shared that the purpose of doing these events is to help fundraise for the community. This year's golf tournament winners: Brandon Hillpot, Tristin Sulzman, Russ Sulzman, and Jeff Doolittle.
