Assemblywoman Brown to Host Giveaway, Forum

COLTON >> The public is invited to attend an education forum and free backpack giveaway Aug. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Inland Empire Job Corps, located at 3173 Kerry St., San Bernardino, Calif. 92407. Assemblywoman Cheryl R. Brown of District 47 will host the free event and will feature discussions by Brown focusing on the legislature's accomplishments this year in education. Representatives from local educational agencies will also be present to speak about resources available to ensure students receive a quality education. After the discussion, there will be a free backpack giveaway along with a resource fair featuring health, housing and education resources. Not only can students receive a free backpack, but all guests can enjoy live entertainment, food and games for the children. The backpacks and school supplies will be given out on a first-come, first served basis. However, priority will be given to children residing in Colton, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Rialto, San Bernardino, Bloomington and Muscoy.
