Residents Invited to Community Cleanup Day

GRAND TERRACE>>The Grand Terrace community can come together for a community cleanup day Sept. 17 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Sponsored by the City of Grand Terrace and Burrtec Waste Industries, Burrtec will collect regular trash and e-waste for Grand Terrace residents. Those who would like to participate in the community cleanup day will need to bring a Burrtec trash bill or photo ID as proof of residency to 22795 Barton Rd. in Grand Terrace. Tire or hazardous waste will not be accepted. The City of Grand Terrace offers free disposal of Household Hazardous Waste through the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Allowable items include up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds of paint, herbicides, pesticides, cleaning products, outdated medication, batteries, fluorescent tubes, cell phones, automobile fluids and electronic waste. However, certain items are not allowable including infectious materials or bio-hazards, explosives, radioactive materials and asbestos. Burrtec also offers a waste oil collection/recycling program to residents. Burrtec will collect used oil and filters on your regular collection day with a limit of two gallons per collection. Residents are asked to call the Burrtec Customer Service Department to schedule an appointment.
