Animal Emergency Clinic Opens in Grand Terrace

Animal Emergency Clinic has moved into their new state-of-the art hospital at 22085 Commerce Way in Grand Terrace, CA.  Terry McDuffee graduated from veterinary school more than 40 years ago, he saw a number of doctors begin opening up after-hours animal clinics in Southern California.  He said. "Back in those days, if you had an emergency you had to wait until the next day or if it happened over the weekend, you would wait until the following Monday."

“Our 43-year legacy of providing emergency veterinary care 365 days a year remains unbroken” says Dr. Terry McDuffee and Dr. Jim Hardesty when commenting on the opening of their new clinic.

We sincerely thank everyone, especially our staff, who made it possible to close our old clinic and open our new clinic on the same day, a herculean task, for sure.

“We’re so happy Animal Emergency Clinic has decided to remain and reinvest in the city of Grand Terrace” says Colleen Kleinberg, a client of the hospital. They could have moved anywhere, but chose Grand Terrace, a true testimony to their dedication to our city.”

For 43 years, the clinic would open its doors when traditional veterinarians would be closed.  They would open at 6 p.m. and remain open until 8 a.m. the following day. Over the years, other after-hour clinics have sprung up, but the Animal Emergency Clinic continued to serve the residents of the area.

Grand Terrace council member Bill Hussey has been bringing his family pets to the clinic for more than 30 years. This past Tuesday, with city dignitaries, San Bernardino Animal Control officers and Sherlock the community liaison dog for the San Bernardino Police Department, on hand, McDuffee and Hardesty had their official grand opening at their new facility at 22085 Commerce Way.

Animal Emergency Clinic provides affordable emergency, urgent and critical care veterinary services during the hours when daytime practices are closed.
