COLTON>> The American Legion Post 155 in Colton, California is hosting the upcoming Aloha Car Show Sunday, Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the legion, located at 1401 Veterans Way in Colton. Community members are invited to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt and enjoy the many cars available for viewing. The car show also serves as an opportunity for the American Legion Post 155 to host a Boy State Fundraiser. If you would like to enter your car or bike in the show, the entry fee for cars is $15 and $10 for bikes. The funds will help support the fundraiser. The Boys State program is sponsored by the American Legion to promote citizenship, leadership and an understating of the structure of government. According to the American Legion website, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. Operated by students elected to various offices, Boys State activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law-enforcement presentations, assemblies, bands, choruses and recreational programs. For more information about the car show, please contact the legion at (909) 825-2985.
