Voice of the People: Reaction to Proposed UTT

Big WOW!! I live in a 2,000 square foot house. While it is well insulated, has dual-pane windows and I am a thrifty soul, I’m not THAT tight. I keep my whole house at the requested 78° during the daytime in the summer. While I conserve on lights, there are always some lights on in every room and two outside for safety. I never have had more than two bills over $100 during the summer months and my highest ever was $137. I seriously doubt that my average has ever reached $100 per month and I have a hard time believing that I am that far from typical for Grand Terrace. In fact, I believe we might have a mass exodus if it were in fact $500 average per month. I haven’t researched the rest of Doug’s numbers but find them at least reasonable. If in fact the average electric bill is closer to $100, that would subtract $20 from the total and make it reasonably close to the city’s estimate. All due respect to Doug, but I really think he is a bit off on this one.
