Voice of the People: Letter to the Editor

The photograph in the Oct. 23 edition of the Grand Terrace City News pretty much says it all. The empty chair that was slated for Mayor Walt Stanckiewitz was just that - empty. Stanckiewitz was a no-show for the Grand Terrace Chamber of Commerce hosted candidate forum. His excuse for missing the forum falls a little flat in that he stated he had to work at his business. I think the mayor could have easily taken the time off necessary to attend the forum because, after all, he owns the business. I think the voters of Grand Terrace deserve more than an empty chair. Let's see if they get it.
