REDLANDS >> During a time of turmoil in Israel, one of the most dynamic prophets emerges and hits the LifeHouse Theater stage. The power of faith is revealed in this true story of God’s messenger and his struggles with the evil King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. Performances begin Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and will continue on weekends through Sept. 4. Performances are Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:15 p.m. (except opening night) and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:15 p.m. In addition to the weekend performances, the theater will offer a special Thursday evening performance on Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The performance Aug. 19 will feature an interpreted presentation for the deaf. “It’s always a special event when we debut a new musical here at LifeHouse Theater,” said Wayne R. Scott, founder and president, in a press release. “To see Elijah’s struggles on stage with evil rulers of his time truly brings an admiration for the prophet’s faith in God. Audiences will be amazed by the way we present the miracles that the faith of Elijah brought about.” “Elijah” is written by LifeHouse veteran performer Tom Williams and directed by Zach Simons. The production staff includes assistant director Jeremy Yeo, who also acts as music director, and choreographer Aniah Simons. Costume design is by Machir Lakofka and set design is by Tim Mahoney. This new musical features Jeremy Kruizenga as Elijah, Aaron Yañez as King Ahab and Jana Smith as Queen Jezebel. Also featured are Garrett Goodell as Obadiah, Darryl Wheeler as Naboth, Megan Wheeler as the Widow of Zarephath, Paul Zanone as Elisha, David Hurley as Micaiah and Sarah Pearce as the Angel. Tickets may be purchased online through the LifeHouse website: www.boxoffice.lifehousetheater.com. Advance ticket prices are $18 or $24 for adults and $9 or $12 for children ages 3 through 11. Children under the age of 3 will not be admitted. Tickets can be also purchased over the phone with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card by calling 909-335-3037. Checks can also be mailed to LifeHouse, provided reservations are made far enough in advance. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, which is open Fridays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and one hour prior to and during show times on the weekends. Tickets are $1 more the day of the performance. Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more. Guests are encouraged to reserve seats early as many performances sell out. Following “Elijah," LifeHouse Theater will continue its 22nd season with an astonishing dramatic memoir, “The Hiding Place." Opening night is Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and will continue through Oct. 16. Please call 909-335-3037 or check our website, www.lifehousetheater.com, for specific dates and additional information. The theater is located at 1135 N. Church St. in Redlands, next to the Redlands Christian School. Free parking is available in the back of the theater.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
