GTHS Varsity Football vs. Chaffey High School

After honoring the veterans in a pre-game ceremony, the Grand Terrace Titans received the opening kickoff from visiting Chaffey Tigers. Both teams went back and forth for a few series than the Titans took a 7-0 lead when running back #32 Devon Dixon ran in for the score midway through the 1st quarter. Early in the 2nd quarter #42 Trivareus Tollier runs in for a score of his own. The score at Halftime was 14-0. Chaffey scored their first touchdown in the 3rd quarter to cut the deficit in half to 14-7. GT came back with a QB dive by #8 Ivan Zacarias to make the score 21-7, #42 Tollier scored his second touchdown to make the score 28-7. Chaffey still fighting, then scored to make the game 28-14 heading into the 4th quarter. With the game winding down GT scored their last touchdown of the night with a run by #32 Dixon for his second score of the night. Grand Terrace had control of the game most of the night and came away with a convincing victory. The Varsity record moved to 1-1. Thursday action featured the Freshmen Team beating Chaffey 24-0 bringing their record to 2-0 and The JV Team winning in come from behind fashion 19-12 brings their record to 1-0-1. Next week both Freshmen and JV have a bye (No games). Our Varsity Titans play host to out of State Team Colorado’s Cherry Creek High School. This will be a very tough game against one of Colorado finest teams, kickoff is at 7 p.m. at GTHS Titans Stadium.
