Grand Terrace Takes First Loss in 2013 Season, Dedicates Game to Injured Teammate

Riding a two-game winning streak, the Grand Terrace Titans went up against the Jurupa Hills Spartans, coming into the Friday, Sept. 20 match on a two-game losing streak and hungry for their first victory, met in a non-league game at Jurupa Hills High School. Both teams came out strong, but the match eventually became one-sided in favor of Jurupa Hills. After exchanging touchdowns in the first half, Jurupa Hills took advantage of some Grand Terrace penalties and an early turnover, which became too hard for the Titans to overcome, leading to the final 52–26 score, with Jurupa Hills in the lead. The Titans came into Friday's game with heavy hearts due to a fallen teammate lost for the season with a health issue. The Titans dedicated this match to that teammate. Grand Terrace's record falls to 2–1 and this week they will travel to Chaffey High School, 1245 N. Euclid Ave. in Ontario, where they will take on the Alta Loma High School Braves. The game begins at 7 p.m. The Grand Terrace junior varsity team won their match against Jurupa Hills 8–7, and the freshman team 7–0.
