The Child Care Resource Center and the Honest Company joined forces on Friday, March 4, in San Bernardino as they held an open-to-the-public event giving away a myriad of products from the Honest Company. The company is mostly known for its co-founder actress Jessica Alba. The company creates various non-toxic household products, ranging from diapers, baby wipes, sunscreen, to shampoo, conditioner and dish soap. “We have a lot of child care providers and parents coming through,” Nancy Boyd, Resource and Referral Manager at the CCRC, shared. Anyone that wanted to stop by to collect a few items were allowed to. The process included: filling out a card, providing the name and zip code of visitor, and then what size diapers and if they are a family child care, a center, if they are license exempt, or if they’re a parent, Child Care Resource Center's (CCRC) Traci Brody explained. “We’re doing this to find out how many parents we get the products out to,” Boyd explained. “It’s a huge donation from the Honest Company and we were chosen to get these products out to the people in this community.” “This is not an ongoing thing; we’ll be getting rid of these products throughout the months,” Boyd said. “So this is a great opportunity for the community.” According to Brody, the Honest Company donated more than $500,000 worth of products in order to share it with the rest of the community. Brody shared the overall goal of the event, “We want to get safe products out to our community. The Honest Company is really big on giving back.” San Bernardino wasn’t their only stop; Brodi shared that they also had an event in Victorville, located in the High Desert. Each product will be donated to those who need it.
