As part of preparing for the flood season and in response to several agency requests for flood fight materials, the Department of Water Resources or DWR strategically prepositioned flood fight materials in warehouses and pre-loaded containers throughout the State. Having these materials in place prior to a flood event allows DWR to support local response immediately. Each container typically holds up to 20,000 sandbags, 6,000 feet of plastic sheeting, 2,000 wooden stakes, 16 boxes of twine and one box of buttons. By December 2015, DWR flood fight materials will be located in 25 locations from Southern California to the Central Valley and the North Coast to better facilitate flood emergency response. Sandbags are available at the following locations: San Bernardino Wildwood Park (SANDBAGS & SAND AVAILABLE) 40th & Waterman Avenue San Bernardino, CA (909) 384-7272 (Monday - Thursday 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.) (909) 384-5742 (after hours) Blair Park (SANDBAGS & SAND AVAILABLE) Little Mountain Drive & 33rd Street San Bernardino, CA (909) 384-7272 (Monday-Thursday 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.) (909) 384-5742 (after hours) Nunez Park (formerly Gateway Park) 5th & Medical Center Drive San Bernardino, CA (909) 384-7272 (Monday - Thursday 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.) (909) 384-5742 (after hours) Loma Linda Loma Linda City Corp Yard (SANDBAGS & SAND AVAILABLE) 26000 Barton Road Loma Linda, CA (909) 799-4410 10 sandbags per City resident Grand Terrace San Bernardino County Fire Station No. 23 (SANDBAGS & SAND AVAILABLE) 22582 City Center Court (In field next to Fire Station) Grand Terrace, CA 92324 (909) 825-0221 SANDBAG/SAND AVAILABILITY Grand Terrace City Public Works Yard (SANDBAGS & SAND AVAILABLE) 22795 Barton Road Grand Terrace, CA 92313 (909) 825-3825 Sand/sandbags available 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Monday – Thursday) Colton Fire Department No. 211 (SANDBAGS & SAND AVAILABLE) 303 East “E” Street Colton, CA 92324 (909) 370-5100 (Admin. A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
