GRAND TERRACE >> Terrace View Elementary kindergarteners celebrated Presidents Day with a Patriotic Performance honoring Grand Terrace veterans on Friday, Feb. 17. Students have been practicing for more than two months for the performance under the guidance of their kindergarten teachers; Mrs. Claudia Motylewski and Mrs. Carol Carrillo. The kindergarten duo have been putting on the patriotic performance for more than three years, each year adding more songs and characters. The teacher's reserved front row seats for veterans for who were in attendance for the patriotic performance. “When they ask all the veterans to stand and show honor to them, I couldn’t hold back my tears,” said Julia Firnkoess, Grand Terrace community member. “I’m not the only one in the audience to shed tears. It’s a wonderful performance, it’s amazing and those little kindergartners put on a great performance for our veterans.” Firnkoess said her daughter, Ava, was also previously a part of the performance when she was a student in Carrillo's class.
