San Bernardino County authorities have taken swift action following a harrowing home invasion in Grand Terrace, California. Marquez Jackson, 25, of San Bernardino, has been charged by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office for his alleged role in the burglary, which occurred with the homeowner present.

The incident unfolded when Jackson and three accomplices forcibly entered a residence, despite the homeowner's presence. In a desperate act of self-defense, the homeowner discharged his concealed carry weapon (CCW) to fend off the intruders.

Among the suspects involved, one is a juvenile, one has tragically passed away, and one remains unidentified and at large. Jackson himself has a troubling criminal history, having been convicted of assault resulting in great bodily injury in 2018.

As of now, Marquez Jackson faces serious charges, including PC 459 for First Degree Burglary with a Person Present and PC 29800 for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The investigation continues, with authorities not ruling out the possibility of additional charges being levied against Jackson and his accomplices.

Jackson is scheduled for a video arraignment on March 10th at 8:30 am at the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Courthouse. This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address and prosecute violent crimes affecting the community of Grand Terrace.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities as they work diligently to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
