Grand Terrace Lions Club held its 34th Annual Pot of Gold Raffle and Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the newly remodeled Riverside Convention Center. The theme of this year’s event was “Black and White.” More than two-hundred guests showed up for dinner, dressed to impress in their best black and white attire. The guests were treated to an incredible dinner created by the new catering staff at the Riverside Convention Center, consisting of both a beef and chicken entrée. Along with the dinner, and raffle, the guests enjoyed dancing to the sounds of a wide range of music provided by the DJ. The annual event was chaired this year by Lion Dani Bubier, her committee was comprised of the following club members; Burt and Deborah Seulymezian, David Radtke, Ruthanne Christianson, Roy Nix, Jim McNaboe, Russel L. Carter and Mickey Bubier. In total more than $28,000 in prize money was awarded to participants, including the grand prize of $20,000, which went to Grand Terrace’s own Mayor-elect, Darcy McNaboe. The proceeds of this event are used to support the local charities and services provided by the Grand Terrace Lions Club throughout the year, some of which are: Grand Terrace High School Senior Scholarships, Grand Terrace High School club grants, community youth activities, The City of Hope, Loma Linda Eye Foundation and The Guide Dogs of the Desert.
