Three County Children Reunited with their Father

Three children were reunited with their father late last month after their mother fled the state, according to officials from the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Child Abduction Unit (CAU). Senior Investigator Karen Cragg said the children's biological, non-custodial mother, Cari Ann Gleason, 33, had been withholding the children from their biological father, Augustus Scott, 57, of Victorville, without his consent, since November. After a lengthy investigation, the children were located across the country in Florida, according to a release issued by the CAU. On Jan. 30, investigators from the CAU traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida, where by prearrangement, Gleason voluntarily placed the children with investigators knowing they would return to Scott in California, the release states. The next day, the children were immediately reunited with their father. “No matter how many times we do this, it’s always gratifying to reunite a child, or, as in this case, children, with their legal parent or guardian and ensure that the court’s child custody orders are followed,” Cragg said.
