Holiday Stories - Secret Santa

Secret Santa has been visiting the Chammas family throughout the holidays. This local family recently suffered a tragedy this year when their son suffered a heart attack while running during PE. The young boy had already been diagnosed with having heart problems but the attack came on an unexpected day. Since this occurred, he has been receiving therapy towards recovery. Secret Santa volunteers have been visiting the family's home to drop off gift baskets with food, gift cards and more. The family shares that it is not what is in the gift baskets that brings joy to the family, but rather the support they feel from the community. Mother, Becky, is required to care for her son 24 hours a day, so this holiday season she was unable to go out and shop for her kids, making the volunteers' time that much more valuable. Just recently the GTHS football players have begun wearing decals on their helmets to help spread the word about the family and encourage the community to pray for the young boy's health, whose older brother was on the freshman football team.
