On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Central Station, conducted a sex registrant compliance sweep in the unincorporated county area of San Bernardino and in the cities of Loma Linda and Grand Terrace.

The purpose of this compliance sweep was to confirm locations and information for registered sex offenders in these areas and locate those who were out of compliance with the terms and conditions of their sex registrant status. If violations were located, cases would be filed with the San Bernardino County Office of the District Attorney.

Ruben Palacios was one of the subjects of the compliance sweep. Palacios was not at the location he declared on his registration paperwork. Follow-up investigation found Palacios had falsified information on his registration documents.

Anyone with information related to out of compliance sexual offenders is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Central Station at (909)387-3545. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may contact We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or go to www.wetip.com
