On Monday Nov. 9, seniors at the Blue Mountain Villas Senior Center will be provided a free lunch at 12 p.m., and have the opportunity to visit with the mayor, council members and special guests. Seniors will share their memories and hopes for the future of their city, and projects in the works. City Manager, G. Harold Duffey, will also be attendance speaking with seniors and listening to their stories and suggestions. Duffey was appointed the City Manager for the City of Grand Terrace this June, and is responsible for the daily operations of this municipal organization. He manages a staff of approximately 35 employees and a budget of nearly $9,000,000. Duffey has earned a Masters of Public Administration degree from California State University, San Bernardino and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Redlands (1987). If Harold’s management style could be condensed into one very simple phrase, it would read, “Let’s plan the work and work the plan.” As a result of planning the work and working the plan, Harold has a track record for stabilizing organizations and empowering employees and policy makers to strategically plan their way out of challenging economic times, while preserving and enhancing the quality of life for all citizens. The location of the event to meet with Duffey as well as other council members is 22627 Grand Terrace Road. Call for reservations at (909) 824-1491.
