GTHS Football Boosters to Host Casino Turnaround Trip

As the community prepares for the upcoming 2013–2014 school year, the Grand Terrace High School (GTHS) football boosters are readying themselves for the season ahead and have started taking signups for the casino turnaround trip coming up Sept. 21. Tickets are $40 per person or $30 per person for couples. The tickets include a bus ride from Grand Terrace High School to San Diego’s Valley View Casino and an all-you-can-eat buffet. Participants must be 21 years of age or older. Because the costs of the football program are not entirely covered by the Colton Joint Unified School District (CJUSD), the team’s boosters raise funds throughout the year to purchase equipment and other items necessary for the team members, said GTHS Football Boosters Vice President Jackie Ortiz. Money the boosters collect goes toward the purchase of uniform gear, helmets and Friday night dinners before football games, to name a few things, Ortiz shared. Those who are interested in participating in the casino turnaround event may call 909-961-7389 or 909-645-5409 for further information. The group will meet on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 a.m. at GTHS, 21810 Main St., Grand Terrace and depart to the San Diego Valley View Casino.
