CJUSD Plans for the Future

CJUSD is seeking community professionals interested in sharing their career choice with students and encouraging them to actively plan for the future. The district’s Community Cabinet teamed up with Bloomington High School for its Career Week and needs professionals to provide interactive booths for Future’s Night being held on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Colton Joint Unified School District’s Community Cabinet formed last year as an alliance between business, labor, community and education. Its purpose is to build a stronger future for our region by ensuring that our students enter the workforce with skills and knowledge needed for success. It includes committees focused on projects to support schools in the areas of early preparation, literacy, academic and career readiness, as well as mental and physical health awareness. Bloomington High’s Career Week and Future’s Night represent a major focus of the Academic and Career Readiness group. “It’s exciting to see so many professionals from the community invest their time and talent into mentoring and supporting our students,” Superintendent Jerry Almendarez said. “We truly hold the future prosperity of our region in our hands, and it rests with our youth.” Those interested in participating and sharing their knowledge with students at Future’s Night can contact Susan Lake at susan_lake@cjusd.net or Nancy Fierro at nancy_ferrero@cjusd.net or call (909) 580-5004.
