GTHS Athlete of the Week - Makaylee Kotsay

Grand Terrace High School Athlete of the Week is Makaylee Kotsay! This Lady Titan’s achievements both academically and athletically showcase her dedication and hard work.

It’s impressive that she has been involved in sports since the age of 2, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to physical activity. Her diverse sports background, including boxing, tumbling, dance, and cheer, highlights her versatility and passion for staying active. She is currently part of the GTHS Titan Pep Squad.

Makaylee’s hobbies, including dirt biking, snowboarding, and surfing, demonstrate her love for adventure and outdoor activities. Engaging in such diverse and physically demanding hobbies not only speaks to her active lifestyle but also reflects a well-rounded and adventurous personality.

Becoming a competitive cheer coach at the age of 13 is a remarkable accomplishment, showcasing not only her skills in the sport but also her leadership abilities. Additionally, receiving the Principal Honor Award reflects Makaylee’s commitment to academic excellence.

Her motivation, rooted in family and friends, is a powerful driving force. She does not want them to see her fail, so she pushes herself even more.

 The quote she shared, “Never be worried of drowning, your lifeguard walks on water. Matthew 14:25” reflects a strong sense of faith and resilience.

It’s inspiring to see Makaylee’s future plans of pursuing a career as a Child Psychiatrist and aspiring to have her own practice with her determination and work ethic, there’s no doubt that she will achieve success in her academic and professional pursuits.

Makaylee’s commitment to giving her best effort in everything she does is truly commendable. This dedication reflects a strong work ethic, a drive for excellence, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement. By putting her all into her endeavors, whether it’s academics, sports, or hobbies, Makaylee demonstrates a sense of personal accountability and a passion for achieving her goals.

We wish Makaylee the very best in all her future endeavors. The recognition as Athlete of the Week is well-deserved, and her journey is undoubtedly filled with more accomplishments and success ahead. Congratulations again, the best is yet to come!
