This week's GTHS athlete of the week goes to Desirae Monroy!

Desirae is a senior with a 4.0 GPA who is involved in cheerleading, swim, and gymnastics.  "I've been in cheer for five years," Desirae said. "Gymnastics for about three years, and swim I did for a year and hope to do it again this coming year because I have more time."

Desirae's biggest sports accomplishment is getting her tick up with her stunt group last year. "It was really cool!" said Desirae.

Desirae has many educational accomplishments two being lettered in swim her sophomore year and twice in academics. Her future plans are to be involved in the medical field. "I would love to become a trauma surgeon," she said.

When asked what her biggest motivation Desirae responded, "It is my dad because he motivates me to be my best. He has been through a lot these past two years, so he just really means a lot to me."

A quote that she lives by and would like to share with others is, "Live life to the fullest and don’t take any moment for granted."
