My selection for this week's Grand Terrace High School Athlete of the Week is Jayson Stewart.

Jayson is 17 years old and is currently a Senior at Grand Terrace High School. Jayson works very hard on and off the field and has maintained a 2.8 GPA.

Jayson’s accomplishments in sports, particularly in football, are indeed noteworthy. Playing as the starting quarterback on the Varsity GTHS football team is a significant achievement, showcasing his skills and leadership on the field. Being a part of a strong football program indicates his dedication to the sport and the contribution he has made to his team’s success.

Last week he helped his team beat Rim of the World High School by scoring three touchdowns!

These accomplishments not only reflect his athletic abilities but also highlights his commitment to his Titan Brothers and the hard work he has put into his sports career. It’s clear that Jayson has made a positive impact in his athletic pursuits, and these achievements are something to be proud of.

I have had the opportunity to see him play football in Grand Terrace at the start of his career when he was only 10 years old. Jayson also played with Snoop Youth Football League for Pomona Steelers with my son Christian Valenzuela. Being a part of youth football leagues can be a valuable experience for young athletes as they develop their skills and passion for the sport.

Jayson also has played basketball for four years and plans to continue as he finishes high school with a well-rounded athletic background.

Some of Jayson’s hobbies are coaching, swimming, and music recording. Maybe some day will hear his music playing on the radio!

When asked what quote he would like to share with others, he said, “Everything is possible for those who believe!” It is certainly inspirational and great motto to live by.

It is clear that Jayson has a passion for sports, a supportive family, and ambitious goals for his future. We want to wish him the best of luck as he finishes his Senior year and his future plans when he attends college as a Criminal Justice Major.
