Haunted Lanterns with a Ghostly Glow

Materials:

  • Empty glass jars (mason jars work perfectly)

  • White tissue paper or coffee filters

  • Black marker or black construction paper

  • Tea light candles or battery-operated LED tealights

  • Mod Podge or white glue

  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Jar: Clean and dry your jars completely.

  2. Make the Ghost: Tear tissue paper or coffee filters into pieces. Use Mod Podge to adhere them around the jar so it looks draped like a ghost. You can layer for a more tattered, spooky look.

  3. Add the Face: Use a black marker to draw a ghostly face directly on the tissue paper, or cut out eyes and a mouth from black construction paper and glue them on.

  4. Light It Up: Place a tea light candle or LED tealight inside the jar. Watch as your ghostly lantern glows eerily in the dark.

  5. Optional Twist: Spray a little fake spider web around the jar or add mini plastic spiders for an extra creepy effect.

Display Idea: Line your walkway, porch, or windows with a few of these glowing ghosts. At night, they’ll create a haunting vibe for trick-or-treaters!
