On Thursday, January 25, 2024, deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station began an investigation into a missing juvenile.  Through investigation, deputies learned that between 7:50 a.m. and 8:10 a.m. that morning, 16-year-old Kate Heinze left Redlands East Valley High School. Heinze was captured on video at the University of Redlands Metro Station at 9:23 a.m., wearing dark sweatpants, dark colored t-shirt, blue backpack, and eyeglasses.

It was also learned Heinze was going to take the train to Los Angeles or Colorado. She was last seen arriving at the Los Angeles Union Train Station at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Photos of Heinze are being released and investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating her.  The second image is a photograph of Heinze at the University of Redlands Metro Station.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
