Mazzullis’ Family Kitchen Honored as Grand Terrace Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month!

Mazzullis’ Family Kitchen has been recognized as the Grand Terrace Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Month of October, celebrating its rich history and unwavering commitment to quality and community.

Owner Pat Mazzulli reflects on the family business's humble beginnings, which started in the 1960s as a bread company founded by his parents. "I worked there since I was 12 years old," Pat reminisces. "In those days, when you were 12, you worked for your parents. That's how you learn to run a business."

It was a chance request for pizza from a customer that transformed the trajectory of the Mazzullis’ family legacy. Soon, pizza sales began to outpace bread sales, prompting the business to pivot. In 1978, at just 22, Pat took over operations, while his mother continued to support the restaurant in her 70s, showcasing the family’s deep-rooted dedication to the business.

After closing their Fontana location in 1997, the Mazzulli family faced new challenges. Years later, Pat's daughter Sarah called him with an exciting opportunity: a restaurant for sale in Grand Terrace. “I was about to get my retirement papers when she said we needed to check out this place,” he recalls. “So, we went and bought it, securing the assets for the building in November 2019.”

But just as they began to settle in, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, bringing a halt to their plans. “The first year, we couldn’t even get licenses because offices were closed, and we were paying full rent,” Pat explains. Finally, in April 2022, with the help of family and friends, Mazzullis’ Family Kitchen opened its doors to the community.

Mazzullis’ quickly gained a reputation for its commitment to quality. “Everything is made from scratch, except for our noodles,” Pat emphasizes. “We make our sauce, our meatballs, our sausage—there are no preservatives. We believe in healthy, fresh ingredients.” This dedication to quality aligns with the values Pat learned from his father who grew up on a farm.

Mazzullis’ is not just about great food; it’s also about community engagement. The restaurant actively works with local organizations, including the Foster Agency’s annual Angel Tree program, which helps provide gifts to those in need. “We love to give back,” Pat says, highlighting their discounts for teachers and partnerships with local sports teams.

As the restaurant looks to the future, Pat and his daughter Sarah have ambitious plans, including expanding hours and offering special events. “We want to grow our business and connect more with the community,” he shares. “I also have ideas for cooking classes.”

Mazzullis’ Family Kitchen offers beloved family recipes, including their famous square pizzas, hand-rolled meatballs, house-made sausage, and a selection of craft beers and wines. “We’re a family-owned small business, and we want to bring the taste of home to our customers,” Pat explains.

Now open for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:00 AM, and from 2:00 PM Wednesday through Saturday, Mazzullis’ Family Kitchen invites everyone to experience their delicious Italian fare. Customers can also order for delivery or pickup through DoorDash.

Whether you're a long-time customer or a first-time visitor, Mazzullis’ Family Kitchen is sure to delight with its heartfelt flavors and family-oriented atmosphere.

For a taste of tradition and community spirit, visit Mazzullis’ Family Kitchen at 22320 Barton Rd #C, Grand Terrace, CA 92313, or call (909) 783-6835.
