As summer travel increases throughout the Inland Empire, public safety officials are encouraging motorists to make seat belt use a daily habit.

Traffic safety campaigns throughout San Bernardino emphasize that properly worn seat belts remain one of the most effective ways to reduce injuries and fatalities during collisions.

Officials remind drivers that California law requires seat belts for drivers and passengers and that children must be secured using appropriate safety restraints.

Recent educational outreach efforts have included social media messaging, community presentations, and increased visibility patrols focused on traffic safety.

Authorities encourage residents to perform a quick safety check before every trip by ensuring all occupants are properly restrained and that children are seated in approved car seats.

Community leaders hope the message helps reduce preventable injuries and promotes safer roadways throughout the city.
