Rising Teen Driver Truly Adams Emerging as a Driver to Watch in 2026 Season

Fifteen-year-old driver Truly “The Truth” Adams delivered a standout debut weekend in the 2026 Ligier Junior Formula Championship at NOLA Motorsports Park, establishing himself as one of the most promising young American drivers competing in open-wheel racing today.

Driving for Berg Racing, Adams earned a podium finish in his Ligier Junior Formula Championship debut during the April 11-12 race weekend, securing second-place finishes in both Saturday races, marking one of the strongest rookie performances of the weekend.

After starting seventh in his opening race, Adams advanced through the field with confidence, climbing into podium position by the second lap and maintaining his position under pressure through the closing stages. His ability to gain positions early and defend against experienced competitors underscored both his racecraft and composure.

That performance was foreshadowed during pre-season testing, where Adams recorded the fastest overall lap time at 1:42.714, more than a full second ahead of the next-closest competitor, signaling his pace and adaptability on the Ligier platform.

Following the opening rounds, Adams currently sits second in the championship standings, positioning himself firmly in contention among the series’ top drivers despite it being his first full season in cars.

The Riverside, California native entered the season with growing international recognition, having previously tested NACAM Formula 4 machinery and earned a finalist position at the FEED Racing Finals in France, where he made history in 2025 as the first American to podium in the final round.

As Adams’ performance continues to gain traction, it also sheds light on a difficult reality within motorsports: advancement at the highest levels requires not only talent and results, but also the financial backing to sustain a full season of competition. With limited funding currently in place, Adams is not yet positioned to complete the remainder of the Ligier season, despite proving he has the pace and composure to compete at the front of the field.

Rather than slowing that momentum, Adams and his team are actively building pathways to continue competing and engaging both the community and potential partners through a series of initiatives designed to support not only his journey, but broader access to motorsports opportunities.

Among those efforts is the upcoming 2nd Annual T3 Golf Tournament, taking place June 2, 2026 in Riverside, California. The event will bring together community leaders, supporters, and industry professionals for a day of networking and engagement in support of emerging drivers.

“Truly proved at NOLA that he has the pace, maturity and skillset  to compete at this level,” said Troy Adams, Truly’s father and coach. “As a family, we have always believed in his ability, but weekends like this show the racing community what he is capable of when he has the opportunity. Right now, the goal is to build the support needed to keep him in the seat, continue his development and give him a real chance to compete for the season.”
